You’ve discovered my secret page. I don’t know what I’m going to put here as of yet, but I promise that it’ll be quite the delight eventually. For now, enjoy this picture of my adorable daughter and a short explanation as to why my page is “johnniekballer” (you didn’t even notice, be honest).

 

Back in my military days on my first deployment, many of the guys would call me “Detective John Kimble” from the Schwarzenegger movie Kindergarten Cop (Apparently no one remembers Dr. Richard Kimble from The Fugitive, show or movie). Over time it was shortened to “John Kimble” and then just “John”. One day as the months dragged on I was jumping on the work truck and a Jets guy (engine mechanic) yelled out “Johnnie K. Baller!” and the name stuck. I actually liked it and for the years to follow, I was known as “Johnnie”. I even had my work coveralls monogrammed with “Johnnie K. Baller” (In my defense, aside from my mother calling me “Mouth” when I was growing up, this was the first time I’d ever had a nickname).

 

Since, I’ve used Johnnie K. Baller for many a username to include my X-Bone account, Twitter handle and others. Thought about making it my pen name or stage name… but now we’re just getting silly.
